This was a summertime favorite when I was growing up. Most of the prep time is freezer time and letting it rest for one hour!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make peanut butter fudge homemade ice cream

  • Step 1
    Combine the sugar, chocolate, and milk in the top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until the sugar and chocolate melt, stirring occasionally. Stir in peanut butter.
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat. Let it cool slightly. Stir in the whipping cream and the vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Pour the mixture into the freezer container of a 2-quart hand-turned or electric freezer. Freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pack the freezer with additional ice and salt and let stand for 1 hour before serving.
