This was a summertime favorite when I was growing up. Most of the prep time is freezer time and letting it rest for one hour!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make peanut butter fudge homemade ice cream

Step 1Combine the sugar, chocolate, and milk in the top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until the sugar and chocolate melt, stirring occasionally. Stir in peanut butter.

Step 2Remove from heat. Let it cool slightly. Stir in the whipping cream and the vanilla.

Step 3Pour the mixture into the freezer container of a 2-quart hand-turned or electric freezer. Freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pack the freezer with additional ice and salt and let stand for 1 hour before serving.
