Nicki's Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Nicki wanted to use the chocolate mint he had growing in back of his apt, and asked could we make some chocolate chip mint ice cream. I said why not and we put our heads together and came up with this.
It is minty, chocolatey and really refreshing.

Ice-Cream Maker


  • 1 c
    whole milk
  • 3/4 c
  • ·
    pinch of salt
  • 2 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    chocolate mint leaves
  • 2 oz
  • 1/3 c
    mini chocolate chip pieces
  • 2 to 3
    drops green food color optional

How to Make Nicki's Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream


  1. In a medium bowl use a mixer to combine the sugar and milk. Continue to beat on low until sugar is combined.
  2. Stir in the heavy cream salt and vanilla.
  3. Cover and chill overnight.
  4. Next day in a food processor (I used my Ninja) pulse the mint leaves unil finely chopped. Add the vodka and pulse again.
    Let sit for at least 1 hour.
  5. Strain the vodka/mint mix through a coffee filter, squeezing out all the liquid.
  6. Put the ice cream base in your ice cream machine, and add the mint/vodka liquid, process to manufacturers directions.
  7. The last 5 minutes add the chocolate chips, and food color.
  8. Tranfer to a freezer container. and allow to firm up before serving.
