I picked this recipe up at the strawberry festival in Canton, Mississippi just after my daughter was born. It was in a little flyer that had all the recipes from the festival in it. There wasn't an author listed, but I have made it often when strawberries are in season near me.

Ingredients For strawberry heaven

  • 8 c
    fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 c
    sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 c
    whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    grand marnier or other orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract

How To Make strawberry heaven

    Combine the strawberries and sugar, stirring gently. Cover and let stand at room temperature for at least 1 hour.

    Beat the whipping cream until foamy; add the liqueur and almond extract, beating until soft peaks form.

    Fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream mixture. Spoon into individual dessert dishes. Serve immediately,.
