strawberries w/balsamic vinegar
(1 RATING)
A friend gave me this recipe. It's easy, delicious, and is great either alone or as a topping for vanilla ice cream or pound cake, though I'm sure it could be used for other things as well.

Ingredients
- 1 pint strawberries, fresh
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons really good, aged, balsamic vinegar
How To Make strawberries w/balsamic vinegar
-
Step 1Depending on the size of the berries, either halve or quarter the strawberries
-
Step 2Toss berries with the sugar and let macerate at least an hour, though two hours is best
-
Step 3Drizzle with aged balsamic vinegar (I use 25 year old vinegar. The supermarket stuff will not work and will taste awful.) Toss, serve. It's good on its own or over icecream or pound cake.
