strawberries romanov
This is a very simple recipe, but it is big on taste and an elegant dessert any time, and we enjoy it in the summer. It also can be pretty economical, especially if you buy an "airplane bottle" of the orange liqueur, which is the perfect amount for this recipe.

- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup triple sec (or contreau or grand marnier)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup sour cream
How To Make strawberries romanov
-
Step 1In a bowl, combine cut strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup triple sec. Stir, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, stirring a couple times during this time, making sure all sugar is dissolved.
-
Step 2Before serving, in large mixing bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold in sour cream until thoroughly blended.
-
Step 3To serve, stir the strawberries and divide them between 4 serving glasses or bowls. Drizzle any remaining syrup over the berries, then divide whipped cream mixture over them.
-
Step 4It is best to serve this immediately, but it can be held over in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour or so.
