Ingredients

  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 - egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - fresh strawberries, sliced

How To Make strawberries and cream

  • Step 1
    In a medium pot, combine the half & half and cream. Brind to a simmer.
  • Step 2
    In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt. Slowly pour about half a cup of the hot cream mixture into egg mixture, whisking continuously. Pour the mixture back into the pot.
  • Step 3
    Cook, stirring constantly, till the mixture just starts to thicken, about 5 min. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Chill till completely cooled.
  • Step 4
    To serve, place the strawberries in a bowl or cup and pour the cream over the top. IF the cream has set up too much and is thick, stir in half a cup of milk to thin out.
