A favorite in this house! The smell of the apples and spices when you walk in the door will make you drool!

Ingredients

  • 8 - granny smith apples, peeled, sliced
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup milk, i used 2%
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cup heart healthy bisquick baking mix
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter

How To Make slow cooked apple struesel

  • Step 1
    In lg bowl, toss together apples, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place in slow cooker. In another bowl, combine milk, soft butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and 1/2 bisquick mix.
  • Step 2
    Spoon mix over apples. In same bowl, wiped clean, combine remaining bisquick mix and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle over mix in slow cooker. Cover, cook on low 6 hrs, or until apples are tender. I serve w/ whipped cream. But ice cream is good too.
