    granny smith apples, peeled, sliced
  • 1-1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 3/4 c
    milk, i used 2%
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
  • 2
  • 1 tsp
  • 1-1/2 c
    heart healthy bisquick baking mix
  • 1/3 c
    light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    cold butter

How to Make Slow cooked apple struesel


  1. In lg bowl, toss together apples, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place in slow cooker. In another bowl, combine milk, soft butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and 1/2 bisquick mix.
  2. Spoon mix over apples. In same bowl, wiped clean, combine remaining bisquick mix and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Sprinkle over mix in slow cooker. Cover, cook on low 6 hrs, or until apples are tender. I serve w/ whipped cream. But ice cream is good too.
