I was looking for something quick, simple and sweet, for dessert but not too sweet. I looked through the cupboards and this is what I came up with. It just hit the spot, not to sweet and definitely quick. My youngest son ate two bowls of it.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups special k vanilla almond cereal, crushed to 1 cup (could use a similar favorite)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 cans (16-oz each) sliced peaches in natural juice, drained
  • dash cinnamon and/or nutmeg

How To Make simple peach delight crisp

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Step 2
In small bowl combine cereal, sugar, flour, and butter; mix well and set aside.
  • Step 3
Place drained peaches in ungreased 2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle a little (or to taste)cinnamon and nutmeg over the peaches. I used a little sprinkle of both.
  • Step 4
Top with cereal mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 5
Serve with either a little cream poured over the top while still warm, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a little (or a lot) of whip cream. I chose a little cream for my serving and it just kicked it up a notch on the comfort level.
