Simple Peach Delight Crisp

Grace Pulley

I was looking for something quick, simple and sweet, for dessert but not too sweet. I looked through the cupboards and this is what I came up with. It just hit the spot, not to sweet and definitely quick. My youngest son ate two bowls of it.

Add to Grocery List

  • 2 c
special k vanilla almond cereal, crushed to 1 cup (could use a similar favorite)
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 2 can(s)
(16-oz each) sliced peaches in natural juice, drained
  • dash(es)
    cinnamon and/or nutmeg

How to Make Simple Peach Delight Crisp

  1. Preheat oven to 350*.
  2. In small bowl combine cereal, sugar, flour, and butter; mix well and set aside.
  3. Place drained peaches in ungreased 2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle a little (or to taste)cinnamon and nutmeg over the peaches. I used a little sprinkle of both.
  4. Top with cereal mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve with either a little cream poured over the top while still warm, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a little (or a lot) of whip cream. I chose a little cream for my serving and it just kicked it up a notch on the comfort level.
