As a Weight Watcher, I am always looking for something different - and sweet, so as I passed the pears on sale this week the idea of pear sauce instead of applesauce came to me. It is absolutely divine!

  • 3 pounds pears

  • - nutmeg

How To Make roasted pear sauce

  • Step 1
Wash pears. Put into a roasting pan.
  • Step 2
Bake for about an hour in a 350 degree oven. You can tell the pears are ready when you insert a sharp knife and turn it. If the pear is mushy, it's ready. Remove from the oven.
  • Step 3
Scoop the pears into a food mill or a potato ricer to remove the skins, seeds, and stems. Add cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
  • Step 4
This is wonderful chilled with whipped cream. Great for babies and children. Try doing this with your favorite apples. No sugar needed.
