Ingredients
- - vegetable cooking spray
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
- 4 pounds purple plums, pitted and quartered
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup regular oats, uncooked
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make plum and walnut crisp

Step 1Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with cooking spray.

Step 2Combine first 3 ingredients, in a large bowl; stir well. Add plums, and toss gently to coat. Add lemon juice, and toss gently. Let stand 30 minutes.

Step 3Combine oats, flour, and brown sugar, in a small bowl. Cut in butter, with a pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in walnuts.

Step 4Spoon plum mixture into the prepared dish. Cover, and bake for 40 minutes. Sprinkle oat mixture over plums. Bake, uncovered, 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve warm. Makes 12 servings.
