This is an old recipe that I have used for years. It is a German version of a peach cobbler. The recipe calls for an 11X7 inch pan, but I have successfully also used a deep 9" pie pan. You just have to adjust the baking time, making it longer.

confectioners' sugar
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 c
butter

(one 29 oz., one 15 1/4 oz.) sliced peaches, drained

eggs

3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1 c
sour cream

How to Make Peach Kuchen (Cobbler)

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a small bowl combine flour, confectioners sugar, and salt.
  • 2Cut in butter to form a dough.
  • 3Pat lightly into an ungreased 11x7 baking pan.
  • 4Arrange peaches over the crust; set aside.
  • 5In another bowl, beat eggs.
  • 6Whisk in the sugar, salt, flour and sour cream until mixture is smooth.
  • 7Pour over the peaches.
  • 8Bake at 450* for 10 minutes.
  • 9Reduce heat to 325*; bake 35 minutes more or until center is set.
  • 10Serve warm with ice cream.
  • 11Store in the refrigerator.
