  • FILLING

  • 1/4 lb
    1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • ·
    pinch of salt
  • 8
    ripe peaches, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c
    water or brandy
  • CRUST

  • 4 Tbsp
    1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk or fruit juice

How to Make PEACH COBBLER

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt mix well.
  3. Add the peaches and the water. Stir and heat thoroughly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour into a greased, deep 9 by 9 inch casserole dish and set aside.
  5. To prepare crust, in a medium sized mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk or juice.
  6. Pour the batter over the peaches and bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
