Ingredients

FILLING

1/4 lb
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
flour
pinch of salt

ripe peaches, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 c
water or brandy

CRUST

4 Tbsp
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c
sugar
1 c
flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
milk or fruit juice

How to Make PEACH COBBLER

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • 2To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt mix well.
  • 3Add the peaches and the water. Stir and heat thoroughly, about 5 minutes.
  • 4Pour into a greased, deep 9 by 9 inch casserole dish and set aside.
  • 5To prepare crust, in a medium sized mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk or juice.
  • 6Pour the batter over the peaches and bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
