Ingredients For peach cobbler

  • FILLING
  • 1/4 lb
    1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 8
    ripe peaches, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c
    water or brandy
  • CRUST
  • 4 Tbsp
    1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk or fruit juice

How To Make peach cobbler

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt mix well.

    Add the peaches and the water. Stir and heat thoroughly, about 5 minutes.

    Pour into a greased, deep 9 by 9 inch casserole dish and set aside.

    To prepare crust, in a medium sized mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk or juice.

    Pour the batter over the peaches and bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
