I stole this recipe from a friend and have made it several times. My son is a diabetic so I have cut down on the sugar and used diet soda in place of regular. I have also used diet ginger ale and diet 7 up. Always turns out GREAT!!!! Go ahead and give it a try, it is super easy to "dew!"

Ingredients

2 pkg
refrigerated crescent rolls (8 in each can)
6
tart apples
1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon
12 oz
diet mountain dew

How to Make Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

Step-by-Step

  • 1Spray a 13x9 baking dish or pan with cooking spray.
  • 2Peel apples and slice into fourths.
  • 3Roll each apple slice in 1 section of crescent roll.
  • 4Place rolled slices in pan in 2 rows. Add extra apples in between crescent roll "dumplings."
  • 5Melt butter, add sugars and cinnamon and pour over apples.
  • 6Pour soda over everything.
  • 7Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • 8Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
