I stole this recipe from a friend and have made it several times. My son is a diabetic so I have cut down on the sugar and used diet soda in place of regular. I have also used diet ginger ale and diet 7 up. Always turns out GREAT!!!! Go ahead and give it a try, it is super easy to "dew!"

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg
    refrigerated crescent rolls (8 in each can)
  • 6
    tart apples
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 12 oz
    diet mountain dew

How to Make Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray a 13x9 baking dish or pan with cooking spray.
  2. Peel apples and slice into fourths.
  3. Roll each apple slice in 1 section of crescent roll.
  4. Place rolled slices in pan in 2 rows. Add extra apples in between crescent roll "dumplings."
  5. Melt butter, add sugars and cinnamon and pour over apples.
  6. Pour soda over everything.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
