Janet gave me this recipe to try out on my husband..He wanted a peach cobbler or pie like his grandmother made him when he was young. She was a great cook and did a lot of baking in a dutch oven. He said that I had a great doo on the crust. He was pleased. Very good.

Ingredients

  • BATTER
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • FRUIT:
  • 3 cups fruit (apple, peach, pear, berries)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Step 1
    Add flour, sugar, baking powder and milk into a medium bowl. Mix together and pour into a buttered pan or baking dish.
  • Step 2
    Add fruit, butter, and vanilla to another pan...sweeten to taste. Bring to a boil. Pour fruit over batter. Bake 450 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • Step 3
    I used a quart of home canned peaches, drained.
