Another childhood favorite from my mom's collection! She usually made blueberry bars but I have used cherry and peach as well as pear butter! So Fruit bars seemed to be a better name :)

Ingredients
- BARS
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 - eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 16 ounces fruit filling or fruit butter
- GLAZE
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (more or less use enough to get right consistency for glaze)
How To Make fruit bars

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Cream together the butter, white and brown sugars and vanilla till light and fluffy.

Step 3Stir in the 4 eggs.

Step 4Fold in the flour until will mixed.

Step 5Spread 2/3 of this into a jellyroll pan.

Step 6Pour over one (16oz) can of your favorite fruit pie filling or fruit butter.

Step 7Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter onto the top of the fruit.

Step 8Bake for 45 minutes.

Step 9While baking make a glaze of the orange juice, powdered sugar and melted butter. Drizzle this over the bars when they come out of the oven before they are cooled.
