This was given to me many years ago, by a friend who said she got it from the school cafeteria!! They are so good and sticky. I make them around Christmas time. Start buying the ingredients as soon as they are in the grocery stores, a few at a time because they are so expensive but really worth it! Serve really small squares, since they are very rich! They make great Christmas gifts too!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces red cherries, candied
  • 4 ounces green cherries, candied
  • 4 ounces pineapple, candied
  • 8 ounces brazil nut halfs
  • 8 ounces pecan halfs
  • 14 ounces date halfs
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Step 1
    mix first six ingredients in bowl. Combine dried ingredients, sift over fruit an d nuts,stir until coated. Beat 3eggs very well, add vanilla. Pour over fruit and nut mixture stir until flour has dissolved. Bake in 9 x 13 well greased pan, press into pan until level. Bake at 350,30 minute let cool, cut in pan. Keeps well in covered container, Freezes well. serve very small pieces at a time

    Beat 3 eggs very well, add the vanilla and pour over the fruit and nut mixture, stir until flour has dissolved.
  • Step 3
    Pour and press mixture into a well greased ( I use a mixture of olive oil and butter ,Land O Lakes ) 9 x 13 in. Pan
