This was given to me many years ago, by a friend who said she got it from the school cafeteria!! They are so good and sticky. I make them around Christmas time. Start buying the ingredients as soon as they are in the grocery stores, a few at a time because they are so expensive but really worth it! Serve really small squares, since they are very rich! They make great Christmas gifts too!
1mix first six ingredients in bowl. Combine dried ingredients, sift over fruit an d nuts,stir until coated. Beat 3eggs very well, add vanilla. Pour over fruit and nut mixture stir until flour has dissolved. Bake in 9 x 13 well greased pan, press into pan until level. Bake at 350,30 minute let cool, cut in pan. Keeps well in covered container, Freezes well. serve very small pieces at a time
