These are a favorite with the kids. You can use splenda and splenda brown sugar with this recipe. It can be used for any meal plus a desert.

Ingredients

  • 8 - whole small apples/ granny smith or mcintosh preferred
  • 2 boxes pastry dough
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup sugar

How To Make debi's apple dumplins

  • Step 1
    Peel and core apples. Roll out pastry dough. Use 1/2 c.brown sugar and 1/2 stick butter cut in pats. 1 tbsp cinnamon. Put a pat of butter, pinch of brown sugar & cinnamon and put in the whole of cored apple. Roll in pastry dough. Start dough at bottom of apple bring up around entire apple and seal at the top. In a boiler pot bring rest of brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, butter, pecans, raisins, vanilla, nutmeg,to boil, cook until thickened. Save some of the cooked ingredients to pour on apple after done. Place apples into a baking dish, pour 3/4 cooked ingredients on apples and bake at 350 for 1 hour until browned and apples are done. Serve each apple in dish with cool whip, drizzle with vanilla icing or vanilla ice cream. Yummy....
