I have been using this simple recipe for years and the topping is so delicious. I have also used this for peach and raspberry crisps as well. Use your imagination for this recipe :)

medium granny smith apples(sliced thin)
1/2 c
light brown sugar
1/3 c
all-purpose flour
1/3 c
quick-cooking oats
1/3 c
softened salted or unsalted butter(no substitutions)
1 tsp
ground cinnamon

How to Make Classic and Easy Apple Crisp

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of an 8X8 inch square baking pan.
  • 2Spread sliced apples evenly on bottom of prepared pan.
  • 3Mix brown sugar, flour, oats, softened butter and cinnamon together until well mixed and crumbly.
  • 4Sprinkle crisp ingredients over apples evenly and try and make sure all of the apples are covered at least a little bit.
  • 5Bake for about 30 minutes or until apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
