I have been using this simple recipe for years and the topping is so delicious. I have also used this for peach and raspberry crisps as well. Use your imagination for this recipe :)

Ingredients
- 4 - medium granny smith apples(sliced thin)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/3 cup softened salted or unsalted butter(no substitutions)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
How To Make classic and easy apple crisp

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of an 8X8 inch square baking pan.

Step 2Spread sliced apples evenly on bottom of prepared pan.

Step 3Mix brown sugar, flour, oats, softened butter and cinnamon together until well mixed and crumbly.

Step 4Sprinkle crisp ingredients over apples evenly and try and make sure all of the apples are covered at least a little bit.

Step 5Bake for about 30 minutes or until apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
