Ingredients

  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs
  • 6 cups flour
  • 4 cans cherry pie filling or any other of your choice
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 4 teaspoons flour

How To Make cherry kuchen

  • Step 1
    Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients.
  • Step 2
    More flour may be needed. Knead the dough like bread. Let rise.(1 hour)usually doubled Pumch. Let rise. (1 hour)
  • Step 3
    Divide into two pieces. Press into sprayed pans. Pour on cherries or topping of choice. Let rise
  • Step 4
    Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • Step 5
    Topping: Remaining ingredients Mix and cook until thick over medium heat stirring constantly. Watching for scotching.
