    canola oil
  • 1 c
    cold water
  • 1 c
    warm water
  • 2 pkg
    active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2
    eggs
  • 6 c
    flour
  • 4 can(s)
    cherry pie filling or any other of your choice
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    margarine
  • 4 tsp
    flour

How to Make Cherry Kuchen

Step-by-Step

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients.
  2. More flour may be needed. Knead the dough like bread. Let rise.(1 hour)usually doubled Pumch. Let rise. (1 hour)
  3. Divide into two pieces. Press into sprayed pans. Pour on cherries or topping of choice. Let rise
  4. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
  5. Topping: Remaining ingredients
    Mix and cook until thick over medium heat stirring constantly. Watching for scotching.
