brown jasmine rice with dates and sliced almonds
I created this rice recipe to go with a curried chicken dish I was making. We loved this rice ! It is so easy to make.

Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup brown jasmine rice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped dates (pitted)
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
How To Make brown jasmine rice with dates and sliced almonds

Step 1Put water, salt and rice in medium pot. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce heat. Cook 20 minutes then add the lemon zest, diced dates and almonds. Cover and cook 15 - 20 minutes longer or till done. Keep a check on the liquid, as you may need to add a little more water towards the end to prevent sticking.
