breakfast baked apples

This is a recipe I got when living in the South. In place of the apples you can use pears or peaches they are great too. I like to make this on the weekends on cold days when all I want to do is be lazy....If you are lucky to have leftovers you can warm them up during the week for a guick snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 - winesap apples
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 3 tablespoons crushed cornflaks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons meltd butter
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

How To Make breakfast baked apples

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degreese. Core apples. Arrange in baking dish which has been well greased.
  • Step 2
    Fill centers of apples with raisins,.
  • Step 3
    Combine cornflakes, sugar, cinnomon and butter. Mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples. Sprinkle with additional cornflakes.
  • Step 4
    Pour water and lemon juice around the apples. Bake at 375 degrees for one hour. Basting the apples every 15 minutes.
