Baked Apples with Honey and Almonds

Enjoy this Danish baked apple dessert. Serve with whipped cream or yogurt, if desired.

  • 3 large
    baking apples
  • 1/3 c
    coarsely ground almonds
  • 1/4 c
    firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    softened butter
  • 1/2 c
    orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp

How to Make Baked Apples with Honey and Almonds


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut the apples in half lengthwise and remove the core and stem end.
  2. Place the apples cut-side up in a shallow baking dish. Combine the almonds, brown sugar, and butter and divide evenly into the center of each apple, mounding as needed.
  3. Combine the orange juice and honey in a glass measuring cup and microwave 30 seconds to warm slightly and dissolve the honey. Pour over the apples.
  4. Bake 35-45 minutes or until the apples are fork tender and the topping is browned.
