Ingredients

  • 3 large baking apples
  • 1/3 cup coarsely ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey

How To Make baked apples with honey and almonds

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut the apples in half lengthwise and remove the core and stem end.
  • Step 2
    Place the apples cut-side up in a shallow baking dish. Combine the almonds, brown sugar, and butter and divide evenly into the center of each apple, mounding as needed.
  • Step 3
    Combine the orange juice and honey in a glass measuring cup and microwave 30 seconds to warm slightly and dissolve the honey. Pour over the apples.
  • Step 4
    Bake 35-45 minutes or until the apples are fork tender and the topping is browned.
