Ingredients

  • 6-7 - lg apples of choice (i use fuji)
  • 5-6 - lg pears of choice (it varies for me)
  • - cinnamon, ground
  • 1/8 tsp - cardamon, ground
  • one - lemon
  • one - orange for rind
  • 2 - sticks of butter
  • 3 cps - oats ( i use gluten free oats )
  • 1 1/2 cp - coconut sugar

How To Make apple/pear crisp

  • Step 1
I use a peel away to peel and slice apples and pears. While doing this melt 1 stick of butter in a 4 Qt baking dish in oven. After slicing fruit squeeze lemon juice on fruit. Put fruit in melted butter and coat. Sprinkle fruit with the 1/8 tsp of cardamon and sprinkle enough cinnamon to lightly coat. Grate the whole orange for the zest and toss in with the fruit. Sprinkle 1/2 cp of coconut sugar on fruit and toss. Mix oats with the remaining sugar and add about 1-1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and blend all together. Sprinkle the oats over the fruit and you don't have to use all 3 cups of oats, it depends on preference. Take the remaining stick of butter and cut up and drop butter evenly over crisp. Bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes, depends on oven. Serve up with yogurt, ice cream, coconut bliss or whipped cream. I do this at the same time making apple/pear sauce so if to much fruit was sliced up i make some sauce.
