Please enjoy this delicious recipe served at the "Harvest House" at Green Bluff, WA. If you have never been to Green Bluff,WA. you are missing a great treat. There are many family owned farms & orchards. Peaches,apples,pumpkins strawberries, berries of all kind, vegetables etc. etc. I could go on and on. Fruits & vegetables sold,or picked seasonal. Including hay rides,a corn maze. Farm and orchards selling only home grown produce. Up on the Bluff near Spokane,Mt. 1/2 hour from Spokane,WA. Ingredients

10 - med. apples...................... ( preferably green bluff apples)
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup milk
- cinnamon
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make apple dumplings with vanilla sauce a harvest house in green bluff, wa. recipe

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter. Stir in milk. Roll out into a 10 inch log, cut into 1 inch pieces. Roll each 1 inch piece into a 8 inch circle. Peel and core apples. Place apple in center of dough circle, fill center of apple with 1 teaspoon sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon and add 1 teaspoon of butter. Fold dough up and over the apple. Bake on a greased baking sheet at 350F for 30-49 minutes untill apple is done. Serve with vanilla sauce or ice-cream.

Step 2

Vanilla sauce: Stir the 1 cup of sugar into 3 cups of cold water (use a wire whip) in saucepan. Stir and cook over medium heat until thick, add 1/4 cup butter a sprinkle of cinnamon and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Serve warm over dumplings. ENJOY
