I MADE THIS MANY YEARS AGO...IF YOU LIKE PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE, YOU'LL LOVE THIS. I'VE TWEAKED THIS USING INSTANT PUDDING MIXES INSTEAD OF THE COOKED VARIETY... YOUR CHOICE OF COURSE.

Ingredients

  • PIE CRUST:
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted - [1/2 stick]
  • 1 3/4 cups finely crushed graham crackers
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • PIE FILLING:
  • 2 packages instant chocolate pudding, sugar free
  • 3 cups milk, 2%
  • 2 cups cool whip, low fat
  • - or
  • - whipped cream, sweetened
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped peanuts

How To Make peanutty chocolate pie

  • Step 1
    PREP TIME DOES NOT INCLUDE COOLING/CHILLING TIME.
  • Step 2
    I ALSO DON'T LIKE THE ONE CATEGORY IT ALLOWS US TO CHOSE; THIS IS NOT STRICTLY DAIRY. [WE SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHOICE]
  • Step 3
    YOU'LL NEED A 9 INCH PIE PLATE.
  • Step 4
    HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.
  • Step 5
    PIE CRUST:

    MELT THE BUTTER IN SAUCEPAN; REMOVE FROM HEAT.
  • Step 7
    WITH A FORK STIR IN THE GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMBS, PEANUT BUTTER AND SUGAR INTO THE BUTTER.
  • Step 8
    SPOON MIXTURE INTO A PIE PLATE; PRESS EVENLY AND FIRMLY ONTO THE BOTTOM AND UP THE SIDES WITH A SPOON.
  • Step 9
    BAKE FOR 10 MINUTES; COOL COMPLETELY.... [AFTER IT HAS COOLED A BIT, I LIKE TO REFRIGERATE IT BEFORE POURING THE PIE FILLING INTO IT].

    PIE FILLING:

    WHISK OR BEAT THE PUDDING MIXES WITH THE MILK UNTIL SET, ABOUT 2 MINUTES.
  • Step 12
    POUR INTO COOLED CRUST AND REFRIGERATE.
  • Step 13
    BEFORE SERVING, TOP WITH THE COOL WHIP OR WHIPPED CREAM.
  • Step 14
    SPRINKLE TOP WITH THE FINELY CHOPPED PEANUTS.
