old fashioned peach pie
This was the first fresh fruit pie I ever made. I got the recipe from a Bon Appetit magazine in the 70''s. However, I used my Granny Leda's pie crust since it was the best. This is not your typical mushy peach pie.I think you'll like it.

Ingredients
- 5 cups fresh sliced peaches
- - juice of 1/2 of a lemon
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons butter cut into bits
- - unbaked pie crusts
How To Make old fashioned peach pie

Step 1Mix peaches, sugar, lemon, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into crust.

Step 2Dot top with butter.

Step 3Seal edge of crust with juice or water.

Step 4Slit top of pie to let juice steam out

Step 5Baste top with milk, sprinkle with sugar

Step 6Cover edge of crust with foil.

Step 7Bake 45-50 minutes, removing foil for last 15 minutes.
