1963 Recipe from Home Economics Teacher Mina Robinson of Kansas. This recipe was recommended to me by a good friend who was also a home economics teacher in West Virginia.

1 1/4 c
shortening
1 tsp
salt

egg, well beaten
5 Tbsp
water
1 Tbsp
vinegar

How to Make Never Fail Pie Crust

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut shortening into flour and salt. Combine egg, water and vinegar.
  • 2Pour water into flour mixture all at once. Blend with spoon just until flour is moistened.
  • 3Crust can be handled easy and can be re-rolled without toughening. Keeps in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
