mamaw`s custard pie
This was my Mamaw`s custard pie and the joy of my holidays when I was young growing up in East Tennessee. This recipe is different than most custard pies I`'ve seen as you don't bake it but make it on the stovetop.

Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 - baked pie shell
How To Make mamaw`s custard pie

Step 1Bring milk to a boil over med low heat.

Step 2Add sugar,blended egg yolks, and flour to milk, whisk until combined. Stirring consistently continue cooking over low heat just until mixture begins to boil. This step will take awhile but is worth it. Immediately remove from heat and add vanilla mixing until blended. Pour into your favorite baked pie shell.

Step 3Chill over night or until pie "sets" at least four to five hours. Once set serve and enjoy.
