key lime pie
This pie is traditionally made with key limes (hence the name) & homemade graham cracker crust, but I used regular limes & a leftover frozen pie shell instead. It was still MAGNIFICENT! Who cares what it's called when pie tastes this good!

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon lime zest, heaping!
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 - pie shell, baked
How To Make key lime pie
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Mix lime juice, lime zest, and egg yolks to a mixing bowl. Add in the condensed milk and mix until thick and smooth.
-
Step 2Taste your mixture and see if it's "limey" enough for you. If not, add a little more zest.
-
Step 3Pour mixture into your pie crust, and bake for 15 minutes. Take it out and transfer to the refrigerator to cool - at least one hour. Longer is even better.
