Key Lime Pie

Phyllis Gesch

This pie is traditionally made with key limes (hence the name) & homemade graham cracker crust, but I used regular limes & a leftover frozen pie shell instead. It was still MAGNIFICENT! Who cares what it's called when pie tastes this good!

Add to Grocery List

  • 1 Tbsp
    lime zest, heaping!
  • 1/2 c
    lime juice
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1 can(s)
    sweetened condensed milk
  • 1
    pie shell, baked

How to Make Key Lime Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Mix lime juice, lime zest, and egg yolks to a mixing bowl. Add in the condensed milk and mix until thick and smooth.
  2. Taste your mixture and see if it's "limey" enough for you. If not, add a little more zest.
  3. Pour mixture into your pie crust, and bake for 15 minutes. Take it out and transfer to the refrigerator to cool - at least one hour. Longer is even better.
