This recipe was my Grandmothers and one of the few she ever wrote down,Gradma was an old world cook and did everything without a recipe or measuring.Hope you enjoy and doe's taste very much like pumpkin pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups butternut squash (cooked, mashed,and strained)
  • 1 cup sugar (white only)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (fresh)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 3 large eggs (farm fresh)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 - unbaked 9 inch pie shell

How To Make grandmas delicate and delicious squash pie

  • Mashed squash
    Step 1
    Combine squash, sugar, salt, and spices.
  • Blend in spices
    Step 2
    Blend in eggs, milk, and butter.
  • Step 3
    Bake in hot oven(400 degrees)50 minutes or until silver knife inserted in filling comes out clean.
  • Step 4
    Cool. Can be served warm or cold.
