best pecan pie
Friends and neighbors always love receiving this pie! This is my favorite pecan pie recipe because it is deliciously sweet and rich and it turns out great every time. Be sure to let all ingredients come to room temperature, and use the foil or pie shield, as directed.

Ingredients
- 1 - pie crust shell, thawed uncooked
- 1 1/2 cups whole pecans
- 1 cup light (white) corn syrup, room temperature
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
How To Make best pecan pie

Step 1Place oven rack in center position and preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Place well thawed pie crust on a baking sheet and set aside.

Step 3Place pecans in a large microwave dish and microwave, at full power, for 1 minute; stir pecans and microwave, at full power, for 1 additional minute; remove from microwave and set aside.

Step 4Mix together syrup, brown sugar, salt, melted butter and vanilla until smooth.

Step 5Add eggs to batter and beat until thoroughly combined.

Step 6Pour into crust and sprinkle with pecans (NOTE: you may use the pecans whole, chopped or half and half as pictured).

Step 7Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes; cover edge of crust with foil or pie shield, rotate pan and bake an additional 40 to 45 minutes, until knife or toothpick inserted in center comes out moist, but clean.

Step 8Allow to cool completely before serving (2 hours or more). You may refrigerate, after cooling on counter for 1 hour, to hasten cooling.

Step 9May refrigerate, but is not required.
