I found a cookie recipe on Betty Crocker than changed it to be brownie bars. I made them instead of a cake for my daughter's birthday per her request and we loved them!

Ingredients

  • 1 box
    brownie mix
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 oz
    whipped topping, thawed
  • 9 oz
    reese's peanut butter cups
  • 1/4 c
    peanut butter
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 3 oz
    bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/3 c
    peanuts, salted and without skins

How to Make Peanut Butter Brownie Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Make brownies according to package in a 9x13" pan
    Cool
  2. Mix softened cream cheese and sugar until blended. Fold in whipped topping. Cut Reese's peanut cups in small pieces and mix with cream cheese mixture. Add on top of cooled brownies.
  3. Stir peanut butter and milk and microwave 30 seconds to thin if needed. Stir 2 tablespoons of sugar to peanut butter mixture and drizzle on cream cheese layer.
  4. Drizzle with melted bittersweet chocolate over peanut butter layer. Chop nuts and add on the top.
  5. Refrigerated overnight. This is a good make ahead dessert so the flavors get even better!
