Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter soften
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • FILLING INGREDIENTS
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup coconut, flaked
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons lemon peel grated
  • 1/8 cup fresh lemon juice
  • FROSTING INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peeel grated
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons milk

How To Make frosted lemon bars

  • Step 1
    Mix butter, 1/2 brown sugar, 1c flour Press mixture into bottom of ungreaesd baking pan 9×13 Bake @ 350 10 min.
  • Step 2
    Beat eggs ,1c brown sugar,vanilla until foamy Beat in 1/4c flour,baking powder,lemon peel,lemon juice ,salt Stir in coconut an almonds Spread over crust Bake 25min Cool completely
  • Step 3
    Mix all ingredients for frosting Use enough milk until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency
  • Step 4
    Cut into bars 3×1 in. Yields 3 dozen bars
