Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 cups chopped apples
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans)
- TOPPING:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
How To Make fresh apple bread

Step 1Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Ad apples, nuts and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Pour into a greased bread pan (9 x 13) and sprinkle with topping. Bake for 1 hour at 350.

Step 2Turn on side to cool.
