Borrowed from bright eyed baker website. Tweaked the instructions just a bit, but the ingredients are faithful to the original. Thanks for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons graound cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

How To Make diy cinnamon chips (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 200º F Line a baking sheet with parchment paper Spray paper with no-stick cooking spray
  • Step 2
    Place all ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl, and mix tugether until totally combined and crumbly
  • Step 3
    Spread the mixture out on the parchment paper, flattening out with another sheet of parchment paper or the back of a spatula until you have formed an even rectangle about 1/4" thick
  • Step 4
    Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until the mixture is hot and melted together. It shouldn't be crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely
  • Step 5
    Using a pizza wheel, slice the cooled block into small square chips about 1/4" square. Store in an airtight container in pantry until ready to use. These should keep for a long period of time if kept in airtight container.
