Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • pinch salt

How To Make caramel orange glace (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Place hot water in bottom pan of double boiler. Please on medium low heat and allow to simmer In top pan of double boiler, place butter, sugar, orange juice and salt and stir with wooden spoon until butter is completely melted and all ingredients are well blended. Cook, stirring occasionally, for approximately 5 minutes until mixture is nice and smooth. (It will thicken slightly as it cooks)
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat and pour glace while still warm over desired dish. This is excellent as a glace for cakes or fruit pies. It is also slurpingly delicious as a sauce for a big bowl of ice cream.
