This is a very old recipe. Aunt Norma is Mark's aunt in Washington. Those of you who are concerned that it contains eggs that are not cooked may not want to try it. We have never had an issue. It's simple and yummy. You can add any mix in's that suit your fancy!

- 4 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 5 cups whole milk
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 4 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make aunt norma's easy homemade vanilla ice cream

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs; add sugar gradually to beaten eggs and continue to beat until the mixture is very stiff. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Step 2Pour into gallon ice cream freezer and freeze as directed. (Use ½ the vanilla if adding fruit).
