This dessert is a treat for the whole family! Also great for anyone following a dairy/gluten/sugar/grain-free diet like myself!

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples, granny smith or fuji
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • - cinnamon, to taste
  • - honey, to taste

How To Make stuffed baked apples

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Line a casserole pan with heavy duty aluminum foil.
  • Step 2
    Wash and dry the apples, leave the skin on. Core them from the stem down.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl combine chopped walnuts, cinnamon and honey.
  • Step 4
    Place the apples in the baking pan. Add the walnut-honey mixture into the cores of the apples (push down with your finger to fill the whole apple).
  • Step 5
    Bake for about 45 minutes or until the apples are tender when tested with a fork.
  • Step 6
    Serve warm, by itself or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
