A fabulous preserve to make with ripe summer nectarines, this is a simple and easy recipe.

lbs large ripe nectarines

lbs white sugar

cup water

teaspoon vanilla extract

cup brandy

How to Make Marmelatha Nektarinia - Greek - Nectarine Preserve

Step-by-Step

  • 1Peel and seed nectarines, and cut into large chunks.
    Add to a large pot with sugar and water and boil for 30-40 minutes, until the fruit is nice and soft.
  • 2Keep a close watch toward the end and 5 minutes before removing from the heat, stir in vanilla, lemon juice and cognac and mix well.
  • 3Place in sterilized jars and allow to cool completely before sealing.
