A fabulous preserve to make with ripe summer nectarines, this is a simple and easy recipe.

    lbs large ripe nectarines
  • 2
    lbs white sugar
  • 1/4
    cup water
  • 1/8
    teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4
    cup brandy
  • 11/2
    tablespoons lemon juice

How to Make Marmelatha Nektarinia - Greek - Nectarine Preserve

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel and seed nectarines, and cut into large chunks.
    Add to a large pot with sugar and water and boil for 30-40 minutes, until the fruit is nice and soft.
  2. Keep a close watch toward the end and 5 minutes before removing from the heat, stir in vanilla, lemon juice and cognac and mix well.
  3. Place in sterilized jars and allow to cool completely before sealing.
