Ingredients

  • 3 c
    fresh apples
  • 1/3 c
    dried cranberries
  • 1/3 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp
    cold water
  • 1 1/2 c
    crushed lady finger cookies
  • 1/2 c
    canola oil
  • 1 pkg
    phyllo dough sheets

How to Make Apple Turnovers

Step-by-Step

  1. slice apples and put in pan to saute, add cranberries, cinnamon and brown sugar. saute for about 10 minutes.
  2. meanwhile dissolve cornstarch in cold water, then add to apple mixture, cook until thickened.
  3. peel apart phyllo dough into separate sheets. using one at a time brush with oil, sprinkle crushed cookies then add another sheet, do this for three sheets.
  4. make 4 even slice long ways on sheets, place 2 tablespoons apple mix onto one corner of dough, roll up into triangles, brush with oil, refrigerate until you have all of the sheets done.
  5. bake at 350 for twenty minutes
