Ingredients

  • 3 c
    tart apples, diced (about 3 large)
  • 4 Tbsp
    granulated sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 12
    egg roll wrappers
  • ·
    oil for deep frying
  • ·
    icing sugar

How to Make Apple Hand Pies

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine diced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle with lemon juice and mix well.
  2. Place 2 heaping tablespoons of filling in the center of each egg roll wrapper. Fold in the sides and roll the wrapper tightly. Use a dab of water to secure the tips of the wrapper.
  3. Preheat oil to 350 degrees. Fry each roll for about 4-5 minutes or until brown and crispy. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve warm.
