Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons sugar, set aside
How To Make soft ginger molasses cookies

Step 1Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Stir in water and molasses.

Step 2Sift flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt and gradually stir into the molasses mixture.

Step 3Shape dough into walnut sized balls and roll into the 2 Tbsp. sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased sheet and flatten slightly.

Step 4Bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.
