My Mother made these at Christmas for as far back as I can remember. We always ate them first......probably not real healthy with all that butter, but OHHHHH are they good!

How to Make Russian Tea Cakes


  1. Blend together butter, vanilla and powdered sugar.
  2. Sift together flour and salt and mix with first mixture.
  3. Stir in walnuts
  4. Chill dough.
  5. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 2&1/2 inches apart on ungreased sheet. Bake until set but not brown. While sill warm, roll in powdered sugar. When cool roll in powdered sugar again.
