My Mother made these at Christmas for as far back as I can remember. We always ate them first......probably not real healthy with all that butter, but OHHHHH are they good!

Ingredients

1 c
soft butter
1/2 c
powdered sugar
1 tsp
vanilla
2 1/4 c
flour
1/4 tsp
salt
3/4 c
chopped nuts

How to Make Russian Tea Cakes

Step-by-Step

  • 1Blend together butter, vanilla and powdered sugar.
  • 2Sift together flour and salt and mix with first mixture.
  • 3Stir in walnuts
  • 4Chill dough.
  • 5Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 2&1/2 inches apart on ungreased sheet. Bake until set but not brown. While sill warm, roll in powdered sugar. When cool roll in powdered sugar again.
