This recipe came from my Mom. She first made these in the 1950's..We loved them. Such a tender great tasting cookie....Enjoy..

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup soft butter
1/4 cup crisco shortening
2 - eggs beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

How To Make mom's sugar cookies

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream butter and shortening thoroughly. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Add flour mixture to egg mixture and blend thoroughly. Drop teaspoon onto cooking sheet with parchment paper.Sprinkle with colored sugar and Bake on 375 for 7-9 minutes. I like mine soft so I do them for about 7 minutes. Check them because every oven is different. Don't over bake..Enjoy....Makes around 2 to 2 1/2 dozen..The sugar cookies are left of the chocolate chip cookies on the bottom of the tray...
