moms butter cookie recipe (very versital)

This is my Mothers Butter Cookie Dough I also use this for cut out shape cookies, for Black Raspberry Tart Cookies, and the Candy Cane Cookies this dough is versital.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

How To Make moms butter cookie recipe (very versital)

  • Step 1
    Sift flour, baking powder, and salt set aside.
  • Step 2
    Cream butter and sugar.
  • Step 3
    Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Step 4
    Blend in dry ingredience gradually
  • Step 5
    Divide dough in half, add 2 teaspoons of red food coloring to 1/2 dough blend in well.
  • Step 6
    Refrigerate both portions 1 hour.
  • Step 7
    Using one teaspoon of red dough roll into rope, do the same thing with white dough twist together make a hook in top you now have a candy cane.
  • Step 8
    bake on lightly sprayed cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 14 minutes, remove from cookie sheet to racks.
