This is my Mothers Butter Cookie Dough I also use this for cut out shape cookies, for Black Raspberry Tart Cookies, and the Candy Cane Cookies this dough is versital.

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter (softened)
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 2 tsp
    milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Moms Butter Cookie Recipe (Very Versital)

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well.
  4. Blend in dry ingredience gradually
  5. Divide dough in half, add 2 teaspoons of red food coloring to 1/2 dough blend in well.
  6. Refrigerate both portions 1 hour.
  7. Using one teaspoon of red dough roll into rope, do the same thing with white dough twist together make a hook in top you now have a candy cane.
  8. bake on lightly sprayed cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 14 minutes, remove from cookie sheet to racks.
