This was my husbands Grandma recipe ,he still raves about them .In her recipe I found no oven time ,so I tried 10 minutes then 12,ten worked best in my oven ..Just watch them and you will know what works best in yoru oven ...Be sure IF there are any left to store covered ..I like walnuts so I use them but you can use pecans

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 sticks margarine
3 large eggs-beaten separately
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking power
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups nuts(i use walnuts)chopped
2 cups chopped dates

How To Make date and nut cookies ,by granny mc clure

Step 1

Cream sugars and butter ,add eggs and beat till creamy .

Step 2

Sift dry ingredient's together and add to creamy mixture .
Step 3

Stir, in Dates and Nuts .Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake .Bake at 350.For 8-12 minutes ..Watch very closely
