These are a Crisp Light REAL Butter Cookie, "OH YUM"!!! guaranteed You cannot Eat Just One, have a glass of Cold Milk handy, & Enjoy. I usually double the Recipe, as One Recipe is NEVER enough. Personal Photo added See the Steps in photos. !!!

Ingredients

  • COOKIE BATTER . . (DOUBLE THE RECIPE IS OPTIONAL) YOU'LL WISH YOU HAD
  • 1 cup butter, (softened @ room temp)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)
  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ( good vanilla)
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • - sugar for sprinking

How To Make crisp butter cookies by freda

  • Step 1
    Preheat Oven @ 350. Makes about 4 Dozen 2" cookies In Large Bowl; Cream: Butter,& Pdr Sugar, til light and Fluffy. Beat in: Egg Whites, & Vanilla. Combine; Flour, Baking pdr, & soda; Gradually Add; to the Creamed butter Mixture above, Mix Well.
  • Rolling dough into Balls Then into Granulated Sugar.
    Step 2
    Roll batter into 1 1/2" Balls. Then roll into Sugar. Place 2" apart on a greased or Parchment Lined Cookie Sheet. . . Flatten with Glass dipped in sugar or a Fork.
  • Placing Balls on Baking sheet, I Used the Bottom of a Glass to Flatten these Jewels.
    Step 3
    Bake @ 350 . . for 12-14 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to Wire Rack to Cook. Note: 1 recipe Makes about 4 dozen 2" crispy cookies. Tips & Hints: I have added 1 Cup Coconut to these for added Goodness, or Lemon flavoring. Can be rolled in or Sprinkled with Cinnamon & sugar, or Sprinkles, also
