My Aunt Sally made these and every bite was a true delight

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon grd nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 cups walnuts or pecans
  • 1 package red candied cherries
  • 1 package green candied cherries
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup light rum
  • 1 cup chopped dates optional

How To Make christmas rocks

  • Step 1
    Cream butter and sugar until light.
  • Step 2
    Beat in eggs
  • Step 3
    Add sifted dry ingredients and milk until well mixed.
  • Step 4
    Pour batter over nuts and fruits and mix thoroughly. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 20 -25 minutes at 325 degrees.
  • Step 5
    While still warm sprinkle with rum.
