Ingredients

1 stick butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 - egg
1/3 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

How To Make chocolate cherry cookies

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2

Cream the butter and sugar.
Step 3

Add the egg and vanilla. Blend well.
Step 4

Add cherries.
Step 5

Mix the flour, cocoa powder and baking soda in another bowl. Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
Step 6

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Drop cookies by tablespoon onto cookie sheet.
Step 7

Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
