black raspberry tart cookies

These are a take on my Mothers butter cookie usually she cuts them out and bakes and decorates them one Christmas I decided to add jelly everyone loved them been making this way ever since I still cut some in shapes and decorate.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 - unbeaten egg
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 11/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • - black raspberry jelly

How To Make black raspberry tart cookies

  • Step 1
    sift together dry ingredients.
  • Step 2
    cream butter and sugar.
  • Step 3
    add egg, milk, and vinilla
  • Step 4
    blend in dry ingredients gradually.( I do this in a stand mixer my hands won't handle this thick dough any more)
  • Step 5
    Chill dough 1 hour.
  • Step 6
    Roll out on floured surface 1/4" thick .( using round cookie cutter cut out rounds)
  • Step 7
    put 1/2 teaspoon black raspberry jelly in center of round,
  • Step 8
    at this point you can either put another round on top and seal or you can fold in half and seal,( I do both ways)
  • Step 9
    bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
  • Step 10
    cool on wire racks when cool you can drizzle with frosting.
